The story and presentation was very interesting, it got my imagination going like crazy! It's a shame the ending was so abrupt, but eh, that's game jams for you I guess.

Btw, I don't know if this is intentional or not, but I could only sprint when going right. Pressing shift while walking left didn't do anything.

Oh, whoops, sorry about that! That worked fine in the first version, but I messed around with it for the patch, and ended up breaking it! I also realised that I forgot to turn the underwater screen effects back on, so I've uploaded a new build that fixes both of those things. Thanks for your comment, I probably wouldn't have noticed my own mistake!

Very creepy game. I find the oppressive atmosphere of being under the ocean to be one of the most tense feelings and you replicated that perfectly with this game. Keep up the good work!

Hey, thanks; that's exactly what I was going for, so that means a lot!

Excellent use of the camera! I loved the scares, effective but not too in your face. I wish the ending wasn't so sudden, but that's my only grievance with this fantastic game.

Nice one, what I would change is that the running animation wasn't giving  enough feedback to the player (sometimes I didn't knew if Im running or not) and the backtracking if the player forget to do something felt a little frustrating. Still I played it until the end and felt that the ending was a little uneventful (but considering it's a really short game, that's understandable).

Graphics, style and sounds are the things in which this game really shines and I loved the storytelling bit too :)

The game has a nice pace to it and some really interesting jumpscares to it. I kinda wish I could explore a bit more though. But this is a good game nonetheless.

Hey, thanks for playing! I agree that it would be nice to see more of the facility, and generally spend a bit more time walking around and looking at things. I'll keep it in mind for the future!

REALLY AMAZING GAME DEV

Super cool art style and an interesting platforming mechanic having the vertical levels being the branching paths! My WASD fingers are sad though.

Hey, thanks for playing! Sorry about the lack of WASD; I can add that in the next version, not sure why I left it out in the first place!

Amazing! ❤️

Hello, I played this game and I really enjoyed it, it was a very fun little game, good work :)

Hello! I do feel kind of bad that you had to walk all the way down to the first door, and then walk all of the way back to open it, especially with the default walk speed being so slow on keyboard (and the game doesn't tell you you can press Shift to run). My plan was to get rid of the slow movement entirely, and just have the Aquanaut always run when you use the keyboard, but maybe it's nice to let the player move at a slower pace if they want, and I should just tutorialise the Shift key.

Thanks for playing!

Really nice ps1 look! I especially like the mood and lighting in the storage area. Good audio work too, with that setting, voice recordings and some haunting piano, it reminded me of this ambient album series I really like https://www.cryochamberlabel.com/artist/ruptured-world/

Hey Atte, thanks for playing! The storage area did kind of get the most attention when I was making it, because I figured you'd go back and forth a few times. I'd hoped to put more incidental scenery in other areas, but ran out of time!

Listening to Ruptured World now; it's really cool! I did enjoy making the audio for the game, finding weird creepy sounds. The piano (improvised by my partner after we recorded the VO) definitely brings it all together!

Amazing work! It was short, but really cool. The voice acting was polished.

Thanks for playing, and glad you enjoyed it!

Great work on this game! The environment design and voice acting is really polished and a great narrative experience. I posted a review on the jam submission page and did a playthrough video:

Good game, but it have a ending?

Hey, thanks for playing! The ending's intended to be ambiguous, but I think the fact that I was rushing to get everything in makes it feel a bit abrupt. Oops!
